• A Cup of Water for a Burning Cartload

    Chinese Fables
One sunny morning, in a village nestled beside a winding road, a farmer was guiding his cart. This wasn't just any cart; it was piled super high with dry, crackly firewood, ready for the market.

As the cart rumbled along, a tiny, mischievous spark, maybe from a leftover campfire or a glint of sun on a piece of glass, landed right on the driest piece of wood. Whoosh! In a blink, a little flame appeared. Then, poof! The little flame grew into a bigger flame, and soon, the whole cart of firewood was blazing!

"Oh no! Fire! Fire!" shouted the farmer, jumping back.
People from the village ran out to see what all the commotion was about. The flames were dancing and crackling, reaching high into the air. It was a very, very big fire.

A kind man, seeing the trouble, wanted to help. He rushed to his house and came back quickly. What did he bring? A giant hose? A big bucket? No. He came back with a small teacup, filled with water.

With great effort, he ran close to the roaring fire and SPLASH! He threw the little cup of water onto the huge, burning pile of wood.

    What do you think happened?

The water made a tiny "pssssst!" sound as it hit the hot flames and then, poof! It turned into a little puff of steam and disappeared. The fire? It didn't even notice. It just kept burning bigger and brighter, as if it was saying, "Was that all?"

The kind man looked at his empty teacup, then at the enormous fire. The other villagers looked too. They all realized that for such a gigantic fire, one tiny cup of water was like trying to stop a charging elephant with a feather. It just wasn't enough.

And so, they learned that when you have a really big problem, a very small solution, even if you mean well, often isn't enough to fix it. You need to bring the right amount of help for the size of the trouble!
